This private reference service is not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the responsible public office directly for those actions.
Official Geauga Contacts
For county custody and record routing, begin with the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office. The Safety Center and Sheriff office are at 12450 Merritt Road, Chardon, OH 44024. The main number is 440-279-2009. Choose option 3 for Corrections, which also identifies extension 4411 for inmate-related matters, and option 4 for Records. Dispatch and non-emergency routing is 440-286-1234. The Sheriff’s current contact directory remains the best source if extensions change.
Records questions can be submitted through the Sheriff’s online request form. The printable request form identifies GeaugaSORecords@co.geauga.oh.us. Provide a full name, approximate date, arresting agency, and the precise record sought. A routine emergency must go to 911, not a records channel.
